Message from our Post Commander
Well we are still in shutdown, so we will not be able to hold our monthly meeting again this month (August). It's renewal time again, and I want to encourage everyone to pay their dues for 2021. Although we can't hold meetings, the Legion is still at work. I think you would agree, if ever their was a need, for a voice to teach patriotism, and respect for what we in the Legion hold dear, now is the time. It is very easy to pay your dues online, and doing it online saves our Adjutant Tod a great deal of work.
Although we have not been able to get together formally, the Post has tried to stay engaged in the community. We have made about $6000 in donations to Lemoore Christian Aid. I want to thank Rick Plummer for doing the legwork in making this happen, Christian Aid is able to help those most in need. We also cooked a tri-tip dinner for LPD, and I think almost the entire Dept. was able to stop by and share a meal. Our Chapter 100 Riders have been busy through all of this, I have lost track of how many Funerals they have attended to pay Honors, escourts, and drive by birthday parties. Hope all stay well Randy
Due to the large increase of positive COVID-19 cases in Kings County the City of Lemoore has closed the Veterans Memorial Building again to any gatherings. Post 100's August meetings are canceled. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the Friday morning Veteran Breakfasts have been canceled until further notice. This is subject to change given the fluidity of the situation.

WELCOME TO THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 100 WEBSITE
American Legion Post 100 is located in Lemoore, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley of California. The Post was chartered in 1919. Post 100 has always been an integral part of the local community, with many of the Lemoore's business and community leaders being members of Post 100. The Navy's master jet facility on the west coast, NAS Lemoore is located just 7 miles west of town. Commissioned in 1961, NAS Lemoore played a major role in the Vietnam conflict, and remains Central to West Coast Naval Aviation, with thousands of navy personnel passing through the local community. Many sailors made Lemoore their home, so the membership of the Post tends to abound with "Sea Stories". But be assured, we welcome our brothers and sisters from all branches.
Post 100 is committed to serving our Veterans and their families. We have a dedicated Veterans Service Officer, always available to assist any who have need. We have a good working relationship with the City of Lemoore, the Lemoore Recreation Department, Chamber of Commerce, and the Lemoore Police Department. The Post has sponsored Boy Scout Troop 480 since 1932, the Sea Cadet Squadron at LNAS since 1982, the NJROTC at Lemoore High School, participate in Veterans Outreach Programs each year, work with the United Way on their homeless outreach, and always stand ready to assist in any need. We sponsor the annual Veterans Day Parade, the only evening parade in the Valley. We support the Boys State program with the selection of two outstanding candidates from Lemoore High School. There are many talented and dedicated men and women in our membership, complimented by our chapter of Legion Riders, and all take great pride in Post 100. Our General Meetings are held at 7pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month at the Lemoore Veterans Hall located on "D" street. We get together a little early at 6pm to share a meal and some fellowship. Hope that you join us.
